Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
Compassion Counseling is unable to take insurance at this time. I can, however, provide you with a SuperBill that you can turn into your insurance carrier if your plan covers out-of-network providers. Please let me know if you plan to utilize the SuperBill so that I can ensure you have the right insurance codes in your billing.
How much does counseling cost?
Sessions are $164 for a 50-minute session. I do schedule longer sessions as needed, and if you are interested we can discuss that once we get started. The first session is an additional $20 to account for the extra paperwork involved.
How many sessions will I need?
I know this answer is annoying, but honestly…it depends. Most people make significant progress on their therapeutic goals within the first 10-12 sessions, but many people also keep coming after that because they are excited by their progress and want to keep going!
Will I cry in therapy?
Maybe! But I promise, my goal is not to make you cry. If you ask my clients, they would tell you that they laugh a lot in therapy, but they cry sometimes too. Both laughter and tears can be good medicine!
What should I expect on my first visit?
My office is located on the 3rd floor of the Southwest Business Center. When you enter the lobby, the elevators will be just steps away. Take the elevator to the third floor and when you step out, walk toward the reception desk. There is seating in the waiting area (restrooms are right around the corner from the elevators). Please make yourself comfortable and I will come get you at your appointment time.
I’m ready to dig in - how do I get started?
To get started, go to the contact page and submit the form. You will then receive a text response within one business day with information on how to schedule an initial call. That call will be an opportunity for us to discuss what you are looking for and how I can help.
